The Nuk Tessli Alpine Experience, an ecotourism business, is now for sale.

We leave here enriched by the sun on our skin, your wonderful stone oven bread and the mountain air inside of us . . .but Nuk Tessli is more than just a wilderness experience. My best memories are those of the heart.

The Nuk Tessli Alpine Experience is an alpine eco-adventure for naturalists and hikers. Stay in rustic cabins or tents on fly-in, high altitude lakes near the southern tip of Tweedsmuir Provincial Park in British Columbia's Coast Mountains.

NUK TESSLI NEWS

 

The Nuk Tessli Alpine Experience was initiated by Chris Czajkowski in 1988. A naturalist all her life, Chris specializes in alpine plants and this has provided the focus for many of the guided hikes. For more on this aspect of her work, go to Botany on the Rocks and Horse-Supported Botany.

To provide accommodation 20 miles from the nearest road, Chris built the two cabins single-handedly, using a chainsaw and hand tools. (The article she wrote about this, published in Harrowsmith magazine and subtitled Log Building for the Single Woman, was nominated for the National Magazine Awards.) Several other magazine articles, regular letters to Peter Gzowski's Morningside on CBC Radio and a number of books, describe her wilderness experiences. Chris is also an engaging and entertaining speaker and has been giving slide shows in BC and Alberta for the past 20 years.
