CHRIS' PHOTO JOURNAL

Gentian Valley, 11-13 July, 2008.     Part 1

It is possible to get to Gentian Valley and back in a day,
but to enjoy all the exciting places, it is better to camp.

I went up with some wwoofers It was the dogs' first real packing trip.

The valley is inside the very southern tip of the Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.

The little Blue Penstemons were abundant.

And I found an unusually early clump of Silvery Butterweed.

The wwoofers (two-legged kind) were along to build cairns on the last part of the trail.

n

It was quite buggy going up.

But we found a great camp site

And the next day was a day off for everyone, including me.
I was away up the valley before anyone else had stirred.
