CHRIS' PHOTO JOURNAL

The Mammaries, 23rd July 08 - Part 1

Ginnie (aged 71) and daughter Lisa had come from Nova Scotia.
They are both flower enthusiasts - particularly Ginnie - and they were not disappointed.
Long Meadow had some very nice clumps of paintbrushes.

Lisa loved to get down to the root of the matter to take her photos.

The lupins and valerian were also blooming well.

Eric (my guide for part of the summer) and Badger also came along.

Near the top of Long Meadow we saw a Willow Ptarmigan

We could not understand why she did not fly away - until we found the babies.
