CHRIS' PHOTO JOURNAL

26th-30th July 08 - Success Lakes, Part 3

Close to the glacier I began to find a few unusual  plants.

There was one - and only one - clump of Mist Maiden.

There were 3 clumps of Tilingis Monkeyflower.
(It has a very short stem).

And a plant I had hoped to see because I had discovered it
when I went to Pandemonium Pass all those years ago, Davidson's Penstemon.

Now I could see over the ridge beyond the lake to some very big mountains.

And all the time I was trying to peer through the mist and see what route we would have to take
to reach Pandemonium Pass.
