CHRIS' PHOTO JOURNAL

Wilderness Lake
11 - 13 July, 2009 - Part 2

Four wwoofers and I camped near the cabin at Wilderness Lake.

The morning was beautifully calm.

But the bugs really loved Badger!

(This picture was taken by Abi.)
Badger is looking very scruffy because he is just starting to shed.

The smokey early light and the Arctic Willow made for some interesting photography.

The wwoofers climbed Wilderness Mountain
but I followed a creek up into a high valley that I had not visited before.

Mountain Marsh Marigolds were still fresh and new.

And once again, the Heathers were amazing.

There were a few early Paintbrush,

Both the Common Red Paintbrush and the Small Flowered Paintbrush.

There were also some Birds Beak Lousewort

And the inevitable Moss Campion.

Right at the top there was one single Alpine Harebell.
