CHRIS' PHOTO JOURNAL

Mammaries
29 July 2009

It is the year of the Mountain Arnica.

With a few purple daisies thrown in.

The terrible heat has brought on late flowers quickly and has fried up most of the rock alpines,
But we were able to find a few.

Mountain Goldenrod

Cutleafed Fleabane mixed with Spotted Saxifrage.

A lovely mix of White Heather, Red Heather, and Tolmei's Saxifrage.

And of course the inevitable Alpine Harebell

Dropping down we reached the main Mammary Meadows which were in full bloom.
The Lupins were finished but the Paintbrushes made a great show.

Here is a greeny-orange one.

And a sulphur yellow one.

They were begging to be photographed.

Ryanne was playing with her telephoto lens, and I thought I would do the same.

Another gorgeous day in the mountains.
