For a while, the structural protection crew popped by and ran the sprinklers every other day or so.
(It was hard getting this picture.
Every time I focussed the camera, the water from another sprinkler hit me in the back.)

But the fire settled down; it was cooler, the nights were longer, and the fire season was drawing to a close.
I was expecting a Wells Gray bus tour at the end of August,
and I was concerned about the tangle of hoses lying on the trails.

A lot of the bus tour people are elderly and have a hard enough time negotiating the rocks,
let alone all these other obstacles.
So I emailed Rob Bardossy and the next time a helicopter was in the area,
a crew was dropped to pack up the equipment.

They carried it to the edge of the meadow and loaded it into a net.
The helicopter took off,
picked up the net,
And hauled the equipment away.
'Bye, guys.
