
We had thought the fire danger was over, but on the 27th August it became very hot again,
and the south winds were ferocious.
The fire jumped Pandemonium Creek and started to race north up the Knot Lake Trench.

Some clients were picnicing at Boundary Lake.

The fire looked pretty scarey to them.

The smoke was blown to Charlotte and Nimpo Lakes,
and in the morning, the sun rose red.
The mountains were remarkably clear at first,
But the smoke was like a dragon: it rose up with the heat of the day,
obscured the mountains, then sank back into the Trench at night.
