The Mammaries
11th September, 2009 - Part 1


Despite a few little dribbly showers, everything is still very dry.


There are not many mushrooms, and most of them have split

Flightseeing to Nuk Tessli


The stream is very low in Wiggly Creek Meadow.


Above it, the White Mountain Rhododendron and Black Huckleberry are showing their colours.


In Long Meadow, the sedges are golden.


But at the edges are wonderful little autumn vignettes.

 

 

Leafy aster


The Sitka Mountain Ash is not yet at its full glory.

Common Red Paintbrush.


The Arctic Willow seedpods are exploding.


And there are a number of the very tiny, sweet, Creeping Teaberry.

The single patch of Roundleafed Harebell still has a few blossoms

And, by the Last Cairn, the Fireweed leaves have turned red.
