TOUR #1------------------------------June 28 - July 2
The best time for birders. Hermit thrushes, Clarks Nutcrackers, Gold-crowned Sparrows and Fox sparrows predominate. Plant lovers will enjoy rarely seen early species such as Richards Anemone and the showy Paysons Draba. It can be fairly wet underfoot at this time of year but the thick snow still lying on the peaks adds extra grandeur to the scenery.
Day 1. Fly in during the morning and sample some of Chris' famous stone-oven baked bread. A short afternoon hike close to home explores a series of subalpine meadows which are home to Savannah Sparrows and Northern Spotted Frogs.
Days 2, 3 and 4 will be day hikes from the selection offered.
Day 5. Fly out or stay longer if you wish. |
TOUR #3------------------------------July 26 - 30
Day trips, using the cabins as a base.
See Tour #1 for details.
Lupins are the predominant species in the Alpine meadows at this time of year, but paintbrushes and arnica are making a good showing.

See Mammaries photojournals (last year everything was as much as two weeks late because of the harsh winter.) |
TOUR #4------------------------August 2 - 6
Day trips, using the cabins as a base.
See Tour #1 for details.
The alpine meadows should be splendid.

TOUR #5------------------------August 9 - 13
Day trips, using the cabins as a base.
See Tour #1 for details.
The lupins will have faded but the red paintbrush should make a glorious show.
See Mammaries photojournals. |

TOUR #9------------------------------August 30 - September 3
Thanks to Ruth Beck, a student of Donna Eden's Energy Medicine Certification Program, Nuk Tessli can offer this exciting Energy Medicine course. The best known Energy Medicine exercises are Yoga, Tai Chi, and Reiki, but there are a great number of other practices you can easily do yourself to relieve stress and get your body's rhythms flowing properly. These exercises do not require a heavy physical workout, they are gentle and calming. At Nuk Tessli we will combine these energy practices with hiking and canoeing and good, wholesome food. Ruth will look at the whole body; my speciality is food sensitivities. See my own story.
Day 1. Fly in during the morning and have an introduction to Energy Medicine. Make a pendulum and have a go.
Day 2. Start (early!) with Donna Eden's five-minute routine before breakfast, cover more Energy Medicine ground, and take a four-hour hike - exactly how we arrange the day will dpend on the weather. Many Energy Exercises are best done outside so we will do some of them as we hike.
Day 3. Early Morning Energy routine and a full day's hike interspersed with more Energy exercises.
Day 4. Copy of Day 3 - or bread-making if people prefer. Either will be combined with more Energy Medicine exercises.
Day 5. Early Morning Energy Routine and whatever we can fit in before you fly out.

TOUR #10-------------------------------September 6 - 10
Baking the Best Bread in the World in a Home-made Stone Oven
Day 1: Fly in, eat the best bread in the world, newly baked and still warm, and hike for the afternoon to walk off those calories.
Day 2: Make the best bread in the world (you can take home what you don't eat) and learn how to make a stone oven.
Day 3: A day hike, probably to the Mammaries, but our activities will depend on the weather and requests of the participants.
Day 4: Make fruit or herb bread, and finish the day by making the infamous Spotted Dick (take home what you don't eat).
Day 5: Fly out (if the plane can take off with all that bread!) or stay longer if you wish. |
