TOUR SCHEDULE & SLIDE SHOWS

Floatplane over Chilcotin mountains Reflections in mountain lake Mountain Cariboo Land of lakes and mountains

Chris Czajkowski, public speaker Chris Czajkowski is an experienced and entertaining speaker who has been amusing packed auditoriums in British Columbia and Alberta for the last twenty years. Her hosts have included garden groups, women's groups, museums, naturalist groups, libraries, writers festivals and hiking clubs. Notable venues have been:

Her photography is of sufficient standard to be used in magazine articles and books to illustrate her work. All images on the web site, bar the portrait, are also hers.

The talks describe Chris' wilderness life: how she built her own cabins single-handedly and copes with life on a high-altitude, fly-in lake at least a day-and-a-half's walk from the nearest road. The slides are changed for each group to reflect the audience's interest. Chris' expertise is the alpine plants of her area and botany lovers will be delighted with her colourful portrayal of her "back yard."

Chris asks for accommodation and a fee of $150 to $250, depending what the group can afford. Venues should hold at least 40 people; preferred venues are 100 or more.

Coming out in the fall of 2010:
A Wilderness Dweller's Cookbook: The Best Bread in the World and Other Recipes. Favourite Nuk Tessli Recipes - including the Best Bread in the World and the famous Spotted Dick, plus a comment on the difficulty of getting good quality food to such a remote location. At every slide show people ask me what I eat - when the book comes out, you will know! Details will follow.

The slide show tour is still being organized but I will be starting in Prince George, working south via 100 Mile, Kamloops and Salmon Arm, then travelling to the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Details will follow. If anyone has a request for me to speak to their group within those areas, let me know.
